He also wrote extensively on numismatics, archaeology, and folklore. Oman was a prolific writer and published a number of books on military history, including «The Art of War in the Middle Ages» (1885), «A History of the Peninsular War» (1902), and «The History of the Art of War in the Sixteenth Century» (1937). He also wrote a number of biographies, including «The Life of Nelson» (1891) and «The Life of Edward III» (1902).
